Sailing into the Future: A Renovation at Fremantle Sailing Club

Weathering the elements
One of Australia’s largest sailing clubs asked us to renovate their boat ramp amenities block to match the onboard and onshore experience.

The client
As one of Australia’s largest sailing clubs, Fremantle Sailing Club is like the Titanic of sailing—minus the iceberg, of course! With facilities covering 28 hectares of water and 6 hectares of reclaimed land, it has everything a sailor could need. However, even the best ships need a little maintenance now and then, and the club was keen to ensure that the basics were shipshape.

The crux
The club faced a significant challenge with its ageing shower and toilet facilities at the boat ramp. These facilities were crucial for members using the club’s six launching ramps and other boating services. After years of use by members, it was high time for a renovation. The multi-use area near the boat ramp needed modern, functional, and durable facilities that could withstand heavy usage and the wear and tear of a seaside environment.

Setting the course
To make sure Fremantle Sailing Club met the needs of its members and enhanced the functionality of its facilities, a comprehensive refurbishment of the shower and toilet amenities was undertaken. The approach focused on modernising the existing infrastructure while ensuring durability and ease of maintenance.

The work included a complete overhaul of the shower and toilet facilities. Now, a few years on from the initial work, the quality of the installation means SJC Building Group is Fremantle Sailing Club’s first choice for any minor works or maintenance needs.

The new facilities have significantly enhanced the club’s amenities, providing members with modern, clean, and functional shower and toilet areas near the boat ramp.

Expect excellence with SJC Building Group. With a consultation-first approach, coupled with a commitment to quality assurance, SJC’s minor works enhance asset lifespan.
